Up early that morning and unable to fall back asleep, Bel wandered down to the Assistants' Lounge and opened it up for the day.

"Why am I not surprised that Veronica has a problem with it?" Bel said, rolling his eyes. "Let me guess. It was her poking around that got your secret out."

"I don't know. Maybe. The timing is a bit suspicious." Isabel shrugged, "But I don't have any proof and at this point it really doesn't matter. It's out, I'll deal. Now that I've had time to think about it, it is a bit funny. Apparently I'm evil."

She held out one of the bags she'd brought back from JGoB, keeping a smaller one on the couch next to her. "Cookie?"

"Thanks," Bel said, accepting the cookie. "Seems like you and I have something in common, then. Veronica likes to go around saying how evil we are. Just what have you done that is so 'evil' in her eyes?"

It's been a few days so she can laugh about it now. "I'm looking to take over the world by cleaning everyone's laundry." Isabel noticed a small stain on the fabric of the couch next to her. "Watch." A wave of her hand and the stain was gone. "Because I didn't announce to the world I could do that, I'm evil. Nevermind the fact that if the wrong people find out, I could wind up dead."

"Maybe Veronica represents the Dry Cleaners of the World," Bel said dryly. "Obviously you're a threat to them. Nifty power, though."

And he certainly knew what it was like to worry about people hunting you down and killing you. "You think word is going to get out and somebody may come after you here?" he asked.

"It's a useful trick. And I do save a fortune on dry cleaning."

"But I don't know," Isabel said quietly. "Maybe. I know the FBI would like to get their hands on us and we have enemies that would like to see us dead. The thing is, I just don't know enough about them to tell who's a treat. That's why it was easier to just be Isabel Evans, normal human girl from Roswell."

"Until Veronica decided to stick her nose in and screwed up that plan," Bel said grimly. "Somebody should give her a taste of her own medicine one day -- have her own secrets broadcast to the world."

"No! I can't prove that psycho lady found out because of Veronica. So leave her out of it for now."

Isabel smiled wickedly. "Right now the focus is on Rita. She's the one that opened her mouth on the radio. Even knowing it was supposed to be a secret."

"Anything I can do to help with a little payback?" Bel asked. "I don't have any classes with her, but she seems like she's nuts."

"There isn't an official plan yet. But if something comes up, I'll let you know." Isabel shook her head, "I can't believe the number of people she's pissed off."

"She hasn't attacked me personally," Bel said, "but I've heard of a lot of the crap she's pulled."

"I've never even met the woman. But that didn't stop her from spilling my secrets all over the airwaves. Did you hear last night's report?" Isabel asked. "I think she's completely lost it."

"Isn't she the one who keeps turning John into various animals, too?" Bel asked. "How do they let someone like that teach in this school?"

"The one and only," Isabel said. "Considering the change over in administration they've had since I got here, maybe they don't know? Although how could they not when it's all over the radio. I'd thought about going and complaining, but I really don't want to have to answer questions about myself from the administration."

Bel nodded in agreement. "Yeah, there is that. I try to avoid the administration as much as possible. It may be that there's so much weirdness in this school they ignore it until someone does bring it to their attention, though."

"But if I do that, I lose the possibility of revenge," Isabel said. "Yes, getting the administration on her case would be revenge in a way, but I don't think it would be quite as much fun as what everyone else can think up. I should talk to Parker, she's good with revenge."

"Yeah, Parker could probably come up with something good," Bel said. "Nadia's pretty creative, too. But like I said, anything I can do, let me know."
