Still more with cleaning

Angel was up early.

That was so wrong on so many levels.

But he'd promised Krycek to help finish cleaning the Assistants Lounge, and sadly doing that was more fun than contemplating dealing with Parker's forced death march to Student Council.

Angel stood in the doorway to the lounge and pondered what he wanted to attack first.

Sean nosed around. It was possible that he sniffed around the door of one cabinet in particular more often than he did the others, but Sean was a puppy and puppies did weird things sometimes.

"Uh." John scratches his head. "Go with the not-so-short version."

"Unless we want this to be a smoking lounge," Angel pointed out. "Which wouldn't be relaxing, but on the upside we'd automatically know which of the assistants was evil."

"No, you don't look old," John agrees. "Moisturizing does wonders for the skin."

"New faculty?" John asks. "I haven't seen any of them in the dorms so I bet that means they're off campus. Got any names? And not that woman that Callisto hates either."

Angel's brain focused on that last bit for no real reason whatsoever. "There's a woman who's bothering Callisto?"

"Cam's a frakking-idiotic-ingrate with a death-wish."

"Which I guess is a plus," Sam mused. "Although, if there's ever a vampire incursion not involving you, we can always fill them with holy water."

"I haven't seen any small animals wandering around that's possibly a good sign?" John shrugs.

"Sounds cool," Angela says. "So does it matter if you don't play a musical instrument at all? Because I can't."

"Assuming they're connected to anything." Angel frowned up towards the ceiling. "Think we'd find a pipe if I popped one of those off?"

As though summoned, Sean appeared at John's feet and began to lick his shoes.

"Angel, calm down," Callisto did not start snickering, well, maybe a little. Which made for an interesting combination with the slightly doofy grin. "I'm sure there's somewhere in town."

"Please," Angela says with a shudder. "Glove me. This place looks like a bacteria breeding experiment gone completely wrong, or something."

"Sean!" John kneels down and goes straight for the ears. "I didn't even see you. You're a quiet dog."

John's jaw drops. "Ooookay. What prompted this?"

"Right. Sure. Knew that." Angel nodded far more than was necessary. "Just - just didn't want you to think I was giving you a dress code. I've got one, apparently. I'm supposed to dress nice."

"I've only heard vague details but someone pissed her off but good a few days ago," John tells him. "I have no idea what her name is but if it's enough to piss Callisto off, it must've been pretty bad."

Sean obligingly barked a greeting to Other Guy. He wriggled happily under the petting, ultimately flopping over so that John could reach his belly.

"Yeah, he was cleaning up the place. We talked about some stuff," Callisto said. "Vases? Are they nice?"

"Especially if it was cherry. And Duo made him to be a butler, right? Maybe he could convince him this was what butlers did."

She rubs her nose and sighs. "Somehow, I think things might go wrong if we tried the gremlins-and-Fluffypants plan, though."

"Maybe somebody from her home?" Angel guessed.

"Point," Angel said. "They'd probably team up and take over the school."

"I didn't either." John shakes his head. "Nope, this was all learning about music, the different types, and the instruments themselves. No playing involved. We had a few fun projects, class discussions, and snacks!"

"Like they don't run it already."

Angela scowls at the couch. "Maybe if we got some slipcovers, or even tossed a sheet over it, it would be safe to sit on?" she suggests gingerly.

After the usual glarefest with Marty, Bel decided to investigate the Assistants' Lounge, because, hey, he could go in here now. He was suprised to find it a flurry of activity.
