Tuesday February 28th || Assistant's Lounge

Phoebe opens up the lounge in a very good mood... even if she is trying to write a mid-term for a class to take on Thursday.

Faithful leaned into Parker's fingers, then put twitched his whiskers forward, sounding amused. "What did you want to know? Whether he was going to win the Lotto, or kill you in your bed?"

"The latter. Smartass." Parker scritched behind his ears. "Is he at least being sincere about this attempt to go straight? Or is it a ploy?"

Bel looked at Faithful. "Take a look," he said. "I mean it. I've already betrayed the Underworld by not killing Phoebe, and the human part of me has grown stronger while I've been here, so I decided to switch sides."

Faithful's eyes half-lidded, and he yawned. "I already know. It's pretty obvious. More shiny new intentions, and some clearer bits where you've cleaned up your act." He tilted his head into Parker's petting and said, "No telling if he'll stick to it. But he's on the right track."

"I'll stick to it," Bel said solemnly. "I want to go straight -- be good I mean. I'm not sure how I'll do but Angel said he'd help me figure it out."

"Right." Parker looked grim. "Okay. I won't fight him, and you, and everyone else on this. But I'll tell you the same thing I told Angel: I don't give second chances. You only get this one. If I get a hint that anyone around here is in direct danger from you again, I'll do my damnedest, mortal and powerless or not, to kick your ass. Especially now that I know how."

She looked at Faithful, and shook her head. "You've got some good references. I'll stay the hell out of your way, since I doubt I can be helpful with this. For what it's worth: good luck."

"I wouldn't have told you about the potion if I didn't think you would know when and when not to use it," Bel said. "And giving me a chance is more than I deserve. I'm kinda flailing here but I'll do my best to stay out of your way."

"Are we done here, Parker? You happy with your reading? Because there's a sunbeam calling, and I'm not the Amazing Yappi." Faithful jumped down from the chair, and rubbed against Bel's legs on his way by. "Lighten up. It gets easier if you do." With a nonchalant shrug at Parker, Faithful trotted out the door.

Bel raised an eyebrow at Parker. "Aura reading for hire?"

Parker shrugged unrepentantly, not unlike Faithful, and sent a glare after the cat. "I don't take anyone's word for anything, Bel. Nothing personal. If I turned evil, I'd expect anyone with a brain to do the same." She stood up and smoothed down her skirt. "Right. I have shrimp to find. And a vampire to whap upside the head. I'll see you around."
