Mischief and Mayhem Club, Meeting #3, Monday night, 11 pm, TA Lounge

The first one in the loung tonight, the masked figure set everything up for the other club members, which meant setting out several boxes of donuts. They needed energy to discuss what needed discussing. Besides, mmm, donuts.

Whipping her cloak around, she took a seat and realized somewhat belatedly that eating for some masked figures might be hard to do. Whatever, they can take a donut to go.

"I vote for the fish idea," Princess Butterfly said. "Before it gets too cold to pull it off."

Wolfman pumped his fist in the air. "YESSSSSSSSS!"

"You do realize, right, that you're going to have to do most of the fish yourself?" Princess Butterfly shook her head. "I mean, seriously."

"If we're going for real fish," said Wallflower, oddly happy to be back for more than just the mask and cloak aspects, "Then yeah. I still say eww."

"I say ew too but you know, Lutefisk would be kind of funny."

"If we're using live fish, can they at least be dead first?" Red Demon looked up from the box of doughnuts she was contemplating. "What's a lute fish?"

"It's cod soaked in lye and it's kind of stinky. We had it every Wednesday at my old high school. I worked in the cafeteria," she said, glancing at the box of donuts herself. "I, uh, didn't take into account our masks when I bought them. Ooops."

"This is why a half-mask is awesome," Wolfman told her, as he grabbed a donut and wolfed it down.

"...And... Isn't lye, like, not edible? Like burn-your-tongue not edible?"

Violet chuckled at the donut scarfing.

"It's used to cure certain types of food, like lutefisk, but uh, the process takes a few weeks, so in our situation it probably won't work."

"It's also not going to look like fish anymore after the lye eats it away, is it?" Wolfman asked. "I mean, I was planning on using fresh fish, with the skin still on."

Red Demon glared as Wolfman scarfed his doughnut... okay, it was really more of a pouty, longing stare than a glare.

"I agree if we're gonna use dead real fish, they should look like fish. Unless we can use, like, fish skeletons like they do in the cartoons. But I guess it all depends on what the point is that we are trying to make."

"What about lures," Princess Butterfly suggested. "You can get ones that look real, but aren't, I think?"

"We could get fish that are, like, catnip toys," Mercury suggested. "I mean, they don't look real, but it'd be funny to have them mixed in with all of the real-looking fake ones."

"I like the sound of that, and I think you're right that we've got to do it now before the freeze starts."

"Before it starts snowing too," she added. "Because I don't think any of us want to try painting on a sidewalk that's been snowed on."

"Although blue snow and scattered fish would definitely be weird," Red Demon commented as she stared at her doughnut, trying to figure out how to eat it with her mask on.

Violet snickered. "I kind of forgot about the masks when I bought them."

"It's a challenge! I have to conquer the doughnut or I am not worthy enough to eat it!" Red Demon raised a finger and grinned. "But if you find me off in a corner with my face to the wall for a few moments? Just pretend I'm contemplating the stars, okay?"

"Oh, yah, you betcha," Violet laughed lightly. "And if I've got my nose in a corner, I'm just staring at the paint on the wall."

"Yep! Totally examining the colour and painting technique," Red Demon agreed with a snicker.

Mercury sighed. "I can't believe I don't have a mouth-hole. Okay, I have to go check out some of the neat paint over there."

In the corner, where she could slip the donut under her mask. Er. Examine the paint.

There's a silent code among unmasked masked doughnut eaters eating doughnuts, right? You don't look across at your neighbors as you each examine the painting technique, right?

"So.." Red Demon stood solidly facing the wall and not looking to either side. If she looked, it would be admitting she was... curious. "Come here often?"

"The red swallow flies at dawn," Mercury said. "Um. Every week, yeah. I just felt like that should get a spy-answer."

"Ooh, that's a good point. And then I should have a response to your response, too, so you don't get suspicious of me and think that I am just some weirdo. Hmmm." Red Demon lifted her mask and took another bite of her doughnut. She chewed slowly as she thought about her answer, still not looking. "How about, 'and the cat is fast asleep at his watch'?"

"If it was my cat," Mercury said, and then stopped herself abruptly. "Which I may or may not have. This could be a clever ruse to confuse you. I do not admit to any cat-having."
