Assistants' Lounge, Thursday Afternoon

After speech class, Belthazor unlocked the door of the Assistants' Lounge and settled himself on the couch to read through his texts for various sociology courses and the non-suspicious books he'd borrowed from the library. Seraphim and Valkyrie were curled and snoozing in a nearby chair as bringing pets to the Assistants' Lounge seemed to be the thing to do. They'd managed to escape from the room late that morning and followed him to the lounge.

Hopefully no one would bring a dog in today because it could get ugly. Plus if it was Sean with Angel then he would be accused of hitting on him again which was OMG not true!!!11!!!!



[The lounge is open for TAs, clinic aides, library staff and invited friends. Only TAs and such have keys, though, and the door is locked when none of them are around. If you're a TA and don't have community membership, request it here.]

After ACJ, Sam took her overview of the 1960's and took it to the assistants' lounge. She hesitated in the doorway when she saw Belthazor on the couch, but entered the lounge.

"Uh, hey. Did you find Phoebe?"

"Yeah, thanks again," Bel said, sitting up. "She was down on the second floor, like you said. The dog thing wore off after a few hours." He sighed. "I hate Gremlins."

Phoebe walked in and heard this. Her face turned red.

"Sam...I am so sorry!!"

"I'm glad you found her, then. And yeah, they're a menace." She wondered idly if the administration would let her blow them up.

"No problem, Phoebe," Sam said, shrugging. "Could have happened to anybody."

Phoebe still looked mortified. "I'm sorry I licked you." She sat down next to Cole, hiding her face in her hands. "At least I didn't do to you what I did to Angel."

Sam grinned. "Pretend I didn't pet you because I wasn't paying attention and we'll call it even, okay? And what'd you do to Angel?"

Phoebe grinned back at her. "Deal." At the question, she groaned. "Ikindahumpedhisleg."

Sam tried really, really hard to be sympathetic and not snicker. She hid her expression behind the book. "Huh."

Bel twitched at the mention of the leg-humping but remained quiet.

Phoebe moaned again and hid her face in Cole's shoulder. "Those things need to be dealt with."

"If for nothing else so you don't chase the cats again all night," Cole said mildly. Seraphim opened one eye and peered at Phoebe as Valkyrie yawned.

"I wonder if I can use my fireballs on school grounds if it's a gremlin I'm aiming at," Cole mused.

Sam was wary at the mention of fireballs, but wasn't above using every weapon at her disposal to make sure she didn't end up on the radio. She lowered the book. "What kind of charge could you light with those things? And how far away would you have to be?"

"I can throw about the length of the large room," Bel said. Well, a little longer than that, but he wasn't about to tell the entire truth. "As for charge, you mean like explosives? Never tried anything like that. If it's got a fuse, I can light it."

Sam nodded, already mentally calculating safe distances and trajectories. Now, if they only had a wheelbarrow, that would be something! "And what kind of accuracy do you have? Are we talking broad side of the barn or head of a pin?"

"Wicked accurate." Phoebe mumbled from Cole's shoulder.

Bel nodded with a grin. "Pretty damn good if I say so myself."

"Oookay, then..." Sam pulled out a pencil and made a note in the margin of the book. "Do you need time to recharge, or repower, or reboot, or whatever it is you do?"

Realizing how tht sounded, she blushed slightly. "Er, sorry if that's too personal. I just get carried away sometimes."

Phoebe lifts up her head. "Hey sam? We could do that light show like we did before, just make it more lethal."

"Light show?" Sam asked, having forgotten completely the event Phoebe was referencing.

"I've got a lot of stamina," Bel said with no inuendo really!. "But I can wear myself down. Hard to say what my limits are. But I just need to catch my breath and I'm good to go."

He looked at Phoebe for explanation of the light show comment as well.

"Parker's revenge plot against Crichton at the beginning of the year?"

Damn it. She had forgotten that she had never told Cole about her handiness with explosives.
