With only one class to worry about, Angel had plenty of time to hang out and do nothing pay close attention to his studies.

Currently he was curled up on the couch and reading a large, old, dusty book.

For fun.

Weirdo.

Sean, possessed of a better sense of fun than his dad, was chasing a ball around on the floor.

There was fresh coffee brewing.

"Yeah, right there with ya," Xander said, pretending to ignore ignoring Angel's snark at him.

"You wish I'd let you. What's with all the questions?" Bel responded instead of answering.

"I've got a date with Callisto coming up," Angel said. "If we did it that night I'd at least be busy for a few hours while they had the room."

Fifth period

With only a little time to kill between government and sociology, Angela decides to spend it catching up on her reading in the lounge.

She pours herself a cup of coffee then plops down on the couch, scowling at her government text as she does so.

"That would work out. When's the date?" Deciding that keeping one eye open cost too much energy, he closed it again.

"End of this week," Angel said "Friday or Saturday depending on confirming something with some other players"

Bel scowled. The last thing he needed right now was for Angel to try to seduce confuse him. "Unlike you, I haven't forgotten what I am," he said. He smirked. "But you'll remember soon enough."

Angel's eyes narrowed. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Hey yourself," Angela says with a bit of a smile.

"How's Sean? And, um, did I completely confuse you Sunday? Because I realized after we talked that I probably did that thing where I don't really make sense."

"Nothing," Bel lied, cursing himself silently for making that slip. Not like they didn't expect him to try something else anyway.

"There are kinda plans for Saturday going on, but I'll have to check if they're exclusive or not. Alright, do you know any recipes beisde omelettes?" Cameron asked.

Sean came over to greet Angela, his tail wagging all the while.

"He's good," Angel said. "And nah. I'm just glad if I could help you with something. Whatever it was."

Bel shrugged. "Then don't. Because even if -- if -- I had something planned, I'm not exactly going to suddenly spill all the details of my villainous plans, am I?"

"Yeah, I'm gonna be a little busy this weekend too, probably Saturday but I have to double check I can do some basic stuff," Angel said. "If it involves throwing meat in an oven or onto a hot surface I've got it covered."

Angela reaches down to pat the puppy. "Gooood boy," she croons before turning back to his non-human companion.

"It was a boy problem, actually. I was trying to decide whether I should try to stay with Marty or not. I thought about it, and I really think the answer is no, at least for now. Not that breaking up was fun, but you were right, sometimes it's the best thing for both people. Or vampires. Whatever."

Angela stares at her shoes for a long moment before speaking. "I think this just wasn't the right time for us. We'd been snapping at each other for a couple weeks, now, and that's when we even saw each other. I kissed my ex-boyfriend while I was home last weekend, but that was a symptom, not the main problem."

"I never thought I'd be the type to, like, cheat, or anything like that. Which I clearly am. So ... I didn't want to keep hurting him, I guess."

"Is spaghetti too simple?" Cameron asked. "It is kinda romantic if we get some red wine and I totally know the best dessert ever..."

"It was. I just hope he's okay," Angela says, almost oblivious to how hypocritical she must sound.

She frowns and shakes her head, trying to snap out of her mood. "Anyhow. Congratulations to you and Callisto on the student government thing. Jaye did a really good job on your posters, and Cal's were gorgeous too."

"No, no, I think that's romantic," Angel said. "Just - uh - don't ask me to help with the garlic bread."
