Assistant's Lounge, Friday, January 27

Logan opened up the lounge after Math class and put on a pot of coffee, then flopped down on the couch and closed his eyes.

"I would never be able to forgive myself if something happened to you because of me," she said softly.

Logan took her hand in his. "And how do you think I'd feel if something happened to you because of me?" he asked.

Veronica looked at him, her eyes glistening. She had no idea what to say, so she just squeezed his hand.

Logan looked at her for a long moment, then leaned in to kiss her.

Veronica hesitated for a brief moment, then leaned close to meet his lips.

Logan wrapped his arms around her and pulled her in for a deeper kiss.

Veronica's arms instinctively wrapped around his neck when he deepened the kiss. The fact that she'd been angry with him when she walked in to the lounge was completely forgotten.

They finally pulled out of the kiss, and Logan rested his forehead against hers. "I've missed you," he whispered.

"Me too," she whispered back. "A lot," she admitted.

Logan cupped her cheek in his hand and kissed her again.

After the kiss, Veronica smiled up at Logan. "Well, I can honestly tell you that I wasn't expecting this when I walked in here today."

Logan smiled back. "Do you want to have dinner with me sometime?" he asked softly.

"How's tomorrow for you?" he asked, brushing a strand of her hair behind her ear.

"I don't think I have any plans," she said.

"Say, sevenish?" he suggested, and kissed her lightly. "I can give you a call tomorrow."

"Sounds like a plan," she said, walking over to the coffee pot. After pouring a cup for each of them, she noticed the clock.

"Um, I think we're late for class."

"Oh yeah?" Logan said, not looking at the clock. "That'd be a shame." He grinned.

"Come on, let's go. I don't want to piss Ms. Skeeter off. She makes me nervous," she said, handing him one of the cups.

"All right, all right," Logan said. He accepted the coffee and let Veronica drag him out of the lounge.
