Assistants Lounge -- Friday, February 10
With only one class on Friday, Bel opened up the Assistants Lounge and settled in for a relaxing day of reading up on Japanese weddings.
Re: Period Four
Allie wrote down everything he said and looked over the list. "No, but I could probably figure it out. I'm sure I can find instructions online. Um, you mentioned something about a costume shop in town for the kimonos? I have some board games in my room, so I'm sure I can come up with play money." She looked at the handout. "Flat cups? Those might be hard to find."
"I hope there's a costume shop," Bel said. "I'm not sure. If not..." He grinned at Allie. "Ever been to Japan?"
"No," she said. "And I'm somehow thinking we wouldn't be able to get a weekend pass approved to fly out there to buy kimonos."
"We don't have to fly," Bel said, still grinning widely. "I can get us there in just a few minutes."
She gave him a very puzzled look. "What are you talking about?"
"I can shimmer," Bel said. "Um, teleport. It's one of my powers."
Allie blinked at him. "You have powers?"
Bel looked at Allie in surprise. "Yeah, you didn't know?"
"How would I have known?" she asked. "You never mentioned it."
Re: Period Four
"Oh, I've listened to it a few times, I guess. But not on a regular basis," she shrugged. "So how come you have powers?"
"Well..." Bel said slowly. No point dancing around it. "I'm, um, a demon."
Allie's eyes went wide with surprise. "So does that mean you're evil?" she asked. Cause that would explain why Lilly said he had that bad boy vibe.
He shrugged. "Guess that depends on your point of view. I'm not like gonna kill you or anything. You don't have to be afraid of that."
"Well that's good to know," she said carefully. "So what else can you do besides teleport?"
"Throw fireballs," he said. "I can do a few other things, but those are the big ones."
"Fireballs?"
"Yeah," Bel said, nodding. He cupped his hand and made a tiny fireball appear, then quickly put it out. "Like that, only a lot bigger. I make 'em and throw 'em."
"That's... kind of scary," she admitted.
Re: Period Four
Allie felt guilty. "It's okay," she assured him. "I guess it's more that I had no idea and it kind of makes me wonder if there's stuff about other people I don't know. I know you wouldn’t hurt me."
He smiled at her. "Glad to hear it," he said. "You're pretty cool. Anybody gives you trouble, let me know. I can take care of them for you." "
Uh, thanks, I guess," Allie said, still feeling a bit unsettled. She glanced down at her tablet. "Okay, um, so kimonos?"
"White for you, black for me," Bel said. "You want me to handle getting them? Ordering them won't get them to us in time.""
Yeah, if you don't mind," she said. "I can handle the money and figure out how to make the cranes. And I guess I can pick up juice, but where are we going to find flat cups?"
"Let me handle that one, too," Bel said. "I'll let you know if I run into any trouble. We'll improvise if we have to."
Allie nodded and scribbled some more notes. "Oh, and a fan. I think I might have one of those laying around, so I'll handle that, too."
Re: Period Four
"Sure, Monday will probably work better for me
cause zomg, I’ll be on a plane on Sunday!. Where do you want to meet? I have classes fourth and fifth, but should be free other than that.""How about seventh period, here?" Bel suggested. "If it's crowded we can find an empty classroom or something."
"Sounds like a plan," she said, offering a tentative smile.
"Cool, I'll plan on it then," Bel said.
"Good, um, let me know if you have trouble with any of that stuff you’re supposed to get so we can figure out a plan B."
"
I'm going to swap bodies with you? Will do," Bel said, flashing Allie a smile. "I'll give you a call and let you know."Allie started gathering her belongings and stood to leave. "Okay, have a good weekend."
"You too," Bel said. "See you Monday."
