Assistants Lounge -- Friday, February 10

With only one class on Friday, Bel opened up the Assistants Lounge and settled in for a relaxing day of reading up on Japanese weddings.

Bel's off to Celtic Studies and the lounge is locked unless another TA opens it.

Bel is sprawled on the couch, flipping through the handout Dr. Grissom had given him and Allie.

Wow, this outfit for the grooms looked cool.

He's musing about talking to Allie about a trip to the NPC Costume Shop.

...or maybe they could just shimmer to Japan.

Then there was the task of getting Valentine's Day presents for Phoebe.

Flowers, chocolates, jewelry, bath things, backrubs...no, he's not in denial about them not being official back together yet.

Phoebe came in to get coffee before Cam's class and smiled a little when she saw Cole. "Hey."

"You came out of your room," Cole remarked with a raised eyebrow. "What was that stuff about a doppleganger?"

Phoebe groans. "I was at Carita's last night... and I was uhmm... anyway, you were there...only it wasn't you and... yeah..."

Cole blinked. "Wasn't me, that's for sure. Did he try to hurt you?"

Phoebe shook her head. "I don't think hurting me was what he had in mind," Phoebe blushed a bright red. "Paige and I both thought it was you and he really wanted to go back to my place... which is confusing..."

"How could he resist you?" Cole joked, trying to resist his natural urge to want to hunt down the man and kick his ass. But he couldn't shake his unease at having someone who looked like him running around. "There are demons who can shapeshift to look like other people," he said. "Be careful if you see him again. Is there any way you can tell us apart? Maybe have a codeword or something?"

"I'm wondering if that's the demon who tried to cause me to kill myself that Saturday night," she mused. She raised an eyebrow. "Codeword?"

"That's what I'm afraid of," Cole said grimly. In answer to Phoebe's question, he went on, "Yeah, a code word. Like the safe word we had for Ethics last semester. Some random password we can use so you know it's really me and not this doppelganger."

"So, something that only you would know..."

"Just a random word," Cole said. He dropped his voice for Phoebe's ears alone. "You say 'What's the password?' and I say 'rutabaga.'"

"I'll never remember that you're supposed to say Rutabaga... " she admitted. "Uhmm... how about 'Ethics'?" she asked in a soft whisper.

Cole nodded. "That works. ~~Because that's a word Christian Troy has problems with.~~. 'Ethics' it is."

"So, if he doesn't say 'Ethics' I know that it's a demon I need to get the hell away from."

"Just be careful," Cole said. "I mean, it could be a coincidence -- I mean, look at all the people who look similar around here -- but then again, he could be a demon."

After Maths, Cameron entered the lounge. He halted for a moment as Bel was in there and he still wasn't sure what to think after the last conversation they had. His "yo" might sound a bit tentative.

"Hey," Bel said, tentative as well. "How's it going?"

"Then again, from what I understand, the other dopples around here haven't tried to kill anyone. I take this one kind of personal." ~~He doesn't kiss like you, anyway.~~
