Cameron's got some chocolate cake with him. He puts it on the table and settles down in one of the chairs. Keeping his head down in the lounge sounds like a good thing right now.

((Shut up. I know it's not Thursday. *mutters*))

"They better, engine purring and ready to take me up." Cameron was practically purring himself at the thought.

"You're such a flyboy, Mitchell."

"Not yet, but I'm hoping to be." Cameron grinned.

"Well, the attitude's definitely right." She grinned back.

"Didn't realise there's a correct attitude."

Sam gave him a look. "Cameron, you're flying a piece of machinery that weighs over a ton at speeds that break the sound barrier, and hopefully the speed of light. There's a very specific personality type that finds that fun."

"Not that there's anything wrong with that," she winked, "just that it's not for everybody."

"True, but I think you're crazy if you don't want to do it." He bounced a bit.

"Kinda preaching to the choir on that one, Cameron," she smiled at him, happy to see him more like his old self. "But I may be the Queen of finding unconventional stuff fun."

"Nothing wrong with that," he said lightly.

"Uh huh." Sam stared off into the distance at nothing briefly as she very much didn't remember things Jack had said, but blinked and shook it off. She smiled, "Tell that to, oh, everybody. Apparently physics is dorky and not at all fun."

"They're just jealous of your brain," Cameron said and frowned. "You okay?"

"Some days they can have it." She shrugged. "Yeah, just residual O'Neill stuff. I'd have thought blowing up his bomber jacket in class today would have ended that, but I guess not."

Cameron looked confused. "Uh, I think I missed something?"

"I broke up with Jack's answering machine the day after Valentine's Day." She looked at him sympathetically. "You had enough of your own stuff to deal with. I didn't see the point in bothering you with mine."

"Valentine really didn't bring much good around here, did it?" Cameron sighed. "I'm sorry. I know it blows."

"I think that Fandom High, for the most part, flunks Valentine's Day in a big way." She sighed as well. "Yeah, big time. You okay? If you don't want to talk about it, I get that, too."

He shrugged. "There's not much to say, is there?"

"No, I guess not." She leaned back in the chair, sulking slightly. "I think I liked it better when we were talking about your future and cool planes. Love sucks."

"Tell me about the planes?" Cameron tried, because he really was curious after what Liz had told him.

Sam jumped at the distraction. "What do you want to know?"

"Whatever you can tell me without having to kill me? What makes it better than an F-16?"

"Soooo many things..." After deciding that Cameron had probably already heard most of the really top secret stuff from Vala, Sam bent forward and gave him a detailed (but still quiet) explanation of the inner workings of the X-302 (now the F-302), complete with rough pictures.

"The handling's very smooth, almost as good as a glider. What really makes it revoluntionary, though, is the naquadriah-powered hyperdrive. Unfortunately, the naquadriah's far from stable, so there's no guarantee where you'd end up if you used it over a long distance."

Cameron listened closely even if half of that didn't make sense to him. "Sounds good. And hey, keeps things interesting," he smirked.

"Trust me, that kind of interesting you don't want," she grinned at him. "You'll like it, I promise."

"Oh, I somehow don't doubt it."
