Up early, Callisto opened the TA lounge.

After turning on the coffee machine, she opened up a folder she was carrying and started making notes.

While waiting for the coffee to brew, Callisto underlined passages on a printout of Smear Campaigns and You by the great Kligon journalist Mu of the house of D'Sl'ng'r.

Ahh, sweet, sweet ~~booze~~ caffiene. Just the thing she need to help her see how insulting one's method of cooking gagh/i> applied to this situation.

Veronica stopped by the lounge on her way to Soc of Violence, desperately in search of coffee.

"Hey," she greeted Cal sleepily, making a beeline for the coffee pot.

"" Callisto looked up. "Hey Veronica."

Veronica flopped down on a couch and took a large gulp of coffee before speaking. "What's new?"

"Got some interesting information about our esteemed journalism teacher," Callisto replied. "Just have to figure out the best way to use it."

"Oh really? What kind of interesting information?" Veronica perked up a little at the thought of someone giving Skeeter a taste of her own medicine.

Callisto started smirking. "Let's just say someone's pre-Fandom career was not quite as glamourous as we've been lead to believe."

Veronica snickered. "Well, you know, I am on the newspaper staff," she mentioned. "I'd be more than happy to help with any plan you come up with."

"I believe I just might have to take you up on that offer," Callisto's smirk widened. "After all, it's only good journalism to make sure the message reaches as wide an audience as possible."

"And didn't she teach us that good journalists run with a story, no matter what? Especially if someone has chosen to put themself in the public eye." Veronica's tone was definitely bitter now, remembering how Skeeter had ambushed Logan.

"I believe that was the first thing she taught us," Callisto said. "And she can't very well blame us for taking her lessons to heart, and we'll have the added benefit of actually telling the truth."

Veronica drained her coffee cup. "We're just proving what dedicated students we are, after all," she said with a grin.

"And afterwards," Callisto placed a hand over her heart. "She'll be able to content herself with the knowledge that she's solely responsible for this."

"I hope we make her proud," Veronica said, pretending to wipe away a tear.

"Maybe she'll find a small place for us in her heart, next to John and Umberto."

The laughter Veronica had been holding in finally broke out. After a few moments, she finally composed herself enough to notice the time. "Crap, I need to get to Soc," she said. "I'll see you in class later."

"Catch you around, Veronica," Callisto tossed off a mock salute.

Okay, so 'all the business ethics of a Ferengi' was a bad thing, but it didn't really help here.

Mu had wandered of into a rant about the proper use of something called 'pain sticks'. Callisto wondered if she could get hold of some of them.

Giving up on getting anything practical out of Mu, Callisto decided to just try some of these opera lyrics, instead.

After his trip to town and a quick shower, Cameron is feeling way too bouncy to sit down and study so he head into the TA Lounge in the hopes of bugging someone. "Yo!"

Callisto broke off from 'singing' "Yo."

Cameron blinked. "Is that for Music class?"

"No," Callisto shrugged. "Just found it in this article, and well, I was bored."

"Still no..." He waves his hand about hoping she'll fill in the blanks. "Smurfing."

"Oh, no, there's smurfing," Callisto grinned. "A lot of smurfing, it's just that you can't really smurf all day no matter how much you might like to."

"True, there'd be... Yeah," Cameron agreed and then casualy asked. "Did you see the paper?"

"Not yet," Callisto said. "Are they implying Angel and Logan are sleeping together?"

Cameron wrinkled his nose. "Ewww, no. The nominations for girlkissy are out."

"They are?" Callisto asked. "Any interesting nominations?"

"I'd say so," Cameron grinned. "You were popular."

Callisto snickered. "How popular is popular?"

"I think you were in four pairings," Cameron replied. "And pretty hot ones too. Uh... I mean, not that I..." He cleared his throat. "Can we pretend I didn't say that?"

"Four," Callisto preened, just a little. "Didn't realise girlkissy was that popular around these parts."

"Nah huh!" Cameron nodded empathically.

"So any particular pairing you're going to vote for?"

"You know, it totally sucks that we can only pick one," Cameron sighed dramatically.

"Who knows, maybe there'll be a tie like with the boykissy."

Cameron got a very dreamy, faraway look.

Having just dicovered what exactly gagh is, Callisto's not feeling all that hungry.

Coming to the end of the article Callisto discovers the problem. Mu was wrting about how to avoid smear campaigns.

Pity he couldn't have said that at the start instead.

Callisto locked the lounge and headed off to Journalism.

Callisto didn't come back, so the only way you're getting in here is with a key.
