Bel wandered down to the lounge and opened it up for the day. The coffee maker was his friend.

"You should talk to Piper some day," Bel said. "She can manipulate molecules as well -- either speed them up and make them explode or slow them down and freeze them -- but she doesn't have the control you have to do changes like you can do. Maybe you can learn something from each other."

"That would be good," Isabel said, "Although you'll have to introduce us one of these days. I don't think we've ever met. I'm not sure how much help I'll be though, I don't know how I learned to control it. It just seemed like I always knew how to do it. I guess we were engineered that way."

"And she's a witch, so her powers might work differently all together," Bel said. "Still, can't hurt to compare notes. I'll introduce you next time I see both of you around. You gonna be at the kissing thing tomorrow?" He made a face.

"Since I'm not nominated and have no chance of public humiliation? I'll probably stop by," Isabel said with a laugh and then laughed some more. "Oh! That's right, didn't you make the finals?"

"I'm hoping they forget all about it in favor of the girlkissing," Bel grumbled.

"That will never, ever happen," Isabel smirked. "Boykissy is too pretty. Besides, I'm sure you and Angel wouldn't want to disappoint all your fans would you?"

"Fans?" Bel's voice was close to a squeak. "I don't know why people voted for us. I'm not sure what they're expecting."

"It's pretty simple," Isabel said, trying hard not to laugh. She wondered if there was an possible way to induce flailing. Because flailing was always amusing. "You're a good looking guy and Angel's a good looking guy. Add to that the fact that Callisto and Phoebe both seem pretty happy with their good looking guys, it must mean you both have skills. So, to say it simply? Hot guys plus skill equals pretty show. That sound about right?"

There might have been beginnings of pre-flailing stirring in Bel. "Okay, I accepted that I have to kiss Angel ~~because Veronica is emotionally blackmailing me~~," he said. "But...put on a show? No. No. I mean, it's just going to be a quick kiss, right?"

The poor innocent demon, he really had no idea. "Bel, seriously. You don't really think you're going to be able to get away with just a quick kiss? Do you?"

She couldn't help laughing. "Think of the women involved in this. Callisto came running to Art Studio the other day just to see Angel kiss Barbossa. Now Barbossa is a really sweet guy. But pretty? No. This is going to be an event tomorrow. People are going to be really, really disappointed if you wimp out." She was so going to hell for this.

Bel glared. "I am not a wimp," he said. "But I don't have to prove it by...by...that."

"I'm not saying you're a wimp. Far from it," Isabel said. "I'm just trying to explain to you what the crowd is going to be looking for tomorrow."

"They're going to be disappointed then," Bel said sullenly, crossing his arms.

"They might also wind up dead from glare, at least if Aeryn is one of the finalists. She was not happy about being nominated at all." She leaned back against the couch and took a sip of coffee. "I'll be crushed by the disappointment, but I suppose I'll survive."

Bel eyed Isabel warily. "You're being sarcastic, right? You're not really going to be disappointed, are you?"

"What if I said I was?" she asked.

"I'd say I was sorry?" Bel offered lamely.

[ooc: Running home from work, back in an hour!]

"It's okay," Isabel said with an attempt at sincerity. "It's not like I haven't had a really bad week or two and was looking forward to the pretty just to lift my spirits a bit."

"You don't play fair," Bel said, pouting.

She snickered. "Well remember, I'm the evil alien."

"I can't do this, though," Bel groaned, putting his head in his hands. "But I can't get out of it, I already tried."

"You can do it," Isabel said. She reached over and patted his shoulder in sympathy. "Just close your eyes and think of England."

"I thought it was baseball scores or something you were supposed to think of," Bel said without thinking.

"Bel, you can think of whatever it is your little heart desires. Just kiss him. Make us all happy."

"I will," Bel said glumly.
