TA Lounge, Thursday 14th Sept

Now Mac has her TA lounge keys, she's going to make the most of it. Jake told her way back when she first arrived that the coffee there was the best in the school. She's just testing out that theory.

She has her laptop playing music at her, lots of coffee, pens, and a large stack of paper to keep her occupied.

[ooc: ~~OCD a' comin~~. Open for all TA lounge-ing, or Mac poking needs. All is good for I am bored.]

"I used to think origami was cool when I was little, but didn't really have the patience to do it well."

Mac watched as the plane fly, and pouted. "Damn, they must have taught you well with all the aerodynamics stuff. You're picking this up fast."

"I'd ask you to kiss it better," Jack teased, rubbing his forehead and wincing dramatically. "But then you might throw more of these things at me." He held up both balls and started tossing them in the air and catching them.

"I have no idea, but it wouldn't surprise me. Maybe you could stuff a note down that back of the couch? So it would know what sort of cookies you like?"

"I've always been good at 3 dimensional, hands on stuff. It's the theory that sometimes trips me up." Nadia picked up the plane again, this time ripping tiny rudders into the backs of the wings to correct the curve.

"Yeah, it's pretty cool. I'm apparently tasked with explaining pop culture references to Alianne, which I can completely work with."

"Hey Mac ~~who I totally knew the whole time was from Veronica Mars~~!"

Where should I take you?

Pippi noticed Weiss when she flounced in.

"Hey ~~Janet~~... Weiss?"

Take you out?

"Hi Pippi," Mac grinned, and finished folding. "How much is it worth being a TA just for this place?"

Thailand has always sounded nice.

I hear you should never turn down someone who offers.

"Yup, Eric Weiss. Pippi, right?"

Someone should tell that to the girls I went to junior high with.

Mac laughed, "It's probably not worth asking, although even if I tried to throw things at you, I'd probably miss."

"I'll try leaving a note later perhaps, meanwhile I actually have my own supply and it seems a little unecessary." She aimed at one of the mugs again, got it in and smiled triamphantly. "So, what do you TA for?"

"Ah, it all comes down to money in the end. It sucks just a little." She took a long sip of her now lukewarm coffee before continuing. " I tend to do a lot of bits of website design on the side," Mac said. "That earns me a little, keeps me in vegan foodstuffs all term, that kind of thing."

"You have cookies?" he asked hopefully. "And I don't know, your aim looks pretty good to me." Jack lobbed one of the balls she'd thrown him at a mug and grinned when it went in. "Constant Vigilance 2, with the Doctor. What about you?"

"Nice, my tasks mostly involve explaining the ins and outs of the internet to a load people who've never touched a computer in their lives." Mac quite obviously feels very sorry for such people.

"You want coffee?" she asked, waving a hand vaguely in the direction of the coffee pot.

Suddenly it all seems to make sense, "Ah, yeah see I can deal with the theory, it's the 'remembering which bit to fold when' part that gets me."

Mac pulls out her supposed-to-be swan and eyes it suspiciously. "Does that look like a bird to you?"

Nadia tilted her head as she looked at it. "It does seem to have wings?"

Mac dug around in her bag ~~which was totally there the whole time~~. "I brought a whole load down for lunch. Made 'em myself a couple of days ago." She grinned proudly, "Want some?"

She held out the box, and continued, "I'm TA-ing for Professor Abby's internet class."

Mac pulled a face and attempted to make the wings flap like they're supposed to. They didn't move. "Yeah I think I did something weird." And with that started to unfold in an attempt to rectify the problem.

"I wish I could do that,": Angela said enviously. "I think I need to find a retail job. And you're Vegan? Cool. I kind of want to go vegetarian but..." she trailed off vaguely. "Hasn't happened."

"Well, it still looks neat, at least."

Mac shrugged, "It's always been one of those things that I get. I figure if it's easy, and earns me money, it's got to be all good."

"Most people think I'm crazy for being vegan," she smiled happily, liking the idea that there were people out there who thought it was cool. "I can see why you'd hesitate though, it does get a little frustrating when you can't eat all the stuff everyone else does."

"Thanks, but somehow I think you're just humouring me." Mac laughed, and refolded. This time the wings actually moved. "Check it out, I may be master origami-ist yet... I should probably work out what my proper title is before I adopt it though."
