TA Lounge, Thursday 14th Sept

Now Mac has her TA lounge keys, she's going to make the most of it. Jake told her way back when she first arrived that the coffee there was the best in the school. She's just testing out that theory.

She has her laptop playing music at her, lots of coffee, pens, and a large stack of paper to keep her occupied.

"Nah, just black." Weiss started to look for something in his backpack. "You know, I used to make those fortune tellers. All of my friends were destined to grow older. That was it. All options were 'You will get older.' Seemed like the safest possible prediction. Ah-ha." He pulled a foil wrapped square out of his bag. "Giant-size Rice Krispie treat. To share."

She held out the mug to Weiss, and nodded. "See I should have done that, then I might have avoided the issues I've been having with the answers."

"Much as I'd love to take you up on that offer," she jerked a thumb back at herself, "I'm vegan. I do have a whole ice cream tub of veganised cookies though," she added with a grin. "They were for lunch, but I have enough to feed an army."

"Oh. Hey, that's cool. I can eat animal by-product alone... as my cheerfully bulky figure would suggest." He mock-wibbled for a moment, then smiled. "But, I'd love some cookies, too, if you're offering."

Mac laughed and offered him the box, "Help yourself. I've been handing these off all week. I'm a little inundated with them."

"Oh, and hey, tonight Lavender is making a feast in the 3rd floor common room, you should totally drop by for that. I think she's attempting to feed the masses with the amount of stuff she wanted to make."

"Should I worry? People giving banquet they made entirely themselves out of the joy of cooking in their hearts are usually either terrible chefs or my mother."

"I have no idea," Mac said, laughing. "I've never tried her cooking before. I did lend her one of my vegan cookery books last night though, so at least I know she's following a recipe."

"I think there's a good chance it could be worth eating," she decided and nodded. "I have faith in her abilities."

"Well, if there's free food, I'm there." Eric grabbed some cookies. "So. Mac. Tell me about yourself. Hopes. Dreams. Boyfriend?"

"Hopes and dreams, well I want to go to MIT, do computer science, and maybe one day make a lot of money out of it," Mac smiled at the thought, and nibbled at her cookie. "I haven't figured out exactly what I'm going to do in order to get that money yet, but I'm working on that. Boyfriend, none. But Veronica's making me go to this three minute date thing at Caritas on Saturday because she thinks I don't get out enough."

"I'm sure we'll think of something. It's the Internet. They'll pay for anything," Weiss grinned. "I'm doing the three-minute date thing, too. Great way to meet new people. Maybe I'll see you there."

"God bless the internet," Mac said, with great feeling. "I heard some guy tried to sell his soul on Ebay once. That's one way to try and make money."

She grinned broadly, "Well, I'm glad to know there'll be at least one friendly face. The whole idea of having to make forced small talk like that people I've never met kinda weirds me out."

"I heard about that. People are funny," Weiss said.

"I'm just glad that at least one of my 'dates' will be with someone actually cool," Weiss said. "I hate blind dating, usually, but I thought hey, why not? Only live once."

"Veronica was vaguely threatening in her emails, which is why I'm going" Mac told him. "She means well, and did offer to overnight me a taser just in case."
