Mischief and Mayhem Club, Meeting #1, Monday Night, 11 pm, TA Lounge

Rikku got to the TA lounge early, and set up the masks and cloaks outside of it, with a note above that read

PLEASE TAKE ONE

She got her own mask and cloak in place, in case anyone showed up early. There was a handy stash of rum placed outside to distract any radio squirrels.

"Purple's good," Mercury said. "Purple can be purple, or plum, or lilac, or lavender, or lots of shades. And cat can be kitty or cat or feline or claws. Mush 'em up and see what happens."

Princess Butterfly looked around. "Just how noticeable did we want our first attempt to be? Start with a bang, or work our way up slowly?"

"Big also means a bigger chance of being caught," Mercury mused. "We'd have to be careful. But it'd be huge, if we could pull it off."

Secret identity or no secret identity, he had to stick his tongue out anyhow.

"Kites got bigger wings, too," he pointed out, if only for the satisfaction of carrying on a sane conversation, now.

"I know a lot of people lie," Princess Butterfly added. "We'd have to consider the reasons too, why they're lying. If it's too weird, we don't want people getting pulled from school 'cause their parents can't deal."

"I kinda think ..." Mercury hesitated. "I called the group, but I mean, it's our group? So I don't want to say, like, that my word should mean more than anybody else's -- it doesn't. This is just me thinking out loud."

She continued. "But I kinda think we should start a little small. Not 'cause we can't do big, but because big's gonna take longer to organize and be harder to pull off. Something quick and dirty and see how it goes and use that to figure out how quickly we can ramp up."

Sokka found a mask that looked vaguely wolf-like -- okay, not really, but it was very ARTISTIC, and he had a feeling that the artist had been wolf-inspired. Maybe.

Maybe it was a fox. That would be okay, too, but not as awesome.

ANYWAY. He also snagged a bottle of rum and stashed it under his cloak for later. There were plenty left for the squirrels.

"And butterflys have more fans," she said sticking her tongue out right back at him. "Loads of people like them."

"No one gets hurt?" Sokka asked. "I'm definitely in."

John grabbed a cloak and stuck a mask (http://mardigrascostumes.com/bestblack.jpg) on his face, glad to still be hiding out after the weekend.

"That's a concern, too," Mercury said. "I hadn't thought of that. We don't want anything too crazy or supernatural, then, if we can avoid it. Nothing that's going to make anyone rethink enrolling their kids. That'd mess up the 'no one gets hurt' angle. Not cool."

The whole thing sounded like fun and John was enjoying trying to figure out who people were based on masks and voices. What? It wasn't like his mask covered his hair. "Count me in!"

"Wolfman," Sokka announced. "Swift, silent, and cunning in the moonlight."

"Oh, I like Violet," she said. "Simple. Easy. I'm Violet."

"Violet," she stated. "Violet's good just by itself, right?"

"I wasn't thinkin' about anything that'd hurt anyone," Red Kite said, crossing his arms over his chest. "I was thinkin' more like raidin' the rooms at the hotel and swappin' the drawers they unpacked their luggage into around, or sneakin' somethin' weird into their beds while they're out, yo."

"It's perfect," Mercury grinned. You couldn't see it, but you could probably hear it in her voice. "Welcome to the club, Violet."

"Thank you!" Violet exclaimed proudly. It was a nice name.

"What would be AWESOME," Wolfman said, "would be if we could pull off something that everyone just chalked up as Fandom weirdness."

"I ain't lookin' for a fan club," he replied, leaning back against the wall and giving his head another small shake. "I'm just tryin' to hang onto my sanity while I'm here."

That got a nod. "No, it's a good point," Princess Butterfly said. "And it would give us a chance to get used to working with each other."

She laughed.

"I think that could be handled, yeah? I don't think that'd cause anything awful."
