Still more with cleaning

Angel was up early.

That was so wrong on so many levels.

But he'd promised Krycek to help finish cleaning the Assistants Lounge, and sadly doing that was more fun than contemplating dealing with Parker's forced death march to Student Council.

Angel stood in the doorway to the lounge and pondered what he wanted to attack first.

Sean nosed around. It was possible that he sniffed around the door of one cabinet in particular more often than he did the others, but Sean was a puppy and puppies did weird things sometimes.

"No, I think she was new in town," John says. "No idea why she's in town as I haven't met her but if it was someone from her home, I think Callisto would've just eliminated that person."

"You should have seen the gooey blue stuff," Sam called from the hallway. "I'm lucky it didn't eat through my pants. Or get up and start issuing orders."

"Vala slept in my room last night," Callisto replied. "She and Cameron had fight and it was enough to make her not want to stay in his room. So this morning, I thought I'd tell him, maybe get his side of things. It...didn't go well."

"Did he feed you guys Twinkies? We always had 'em in Deep Thoughts," Angela says, clearly interested. "I so want to take this, now. It's just that I also want history and journalism and something with Grissom and a couple other classes... and my parents really want me to try and take math, god knows why. But I might need to fit in music anyhow."

"Crap," John says. "Bad fight, I'm guessing?"

"So you'll be wearing something Parker picks then?" Callisto grinned, then rubbed her neck. "I, uh, do have a dress. It's... nice."

"It got to the point where I probably wouldn't have been able to stop myself killing him if I hadn't left when I did, and I don't mean that figuratively."

"Gyah," Angela says.

She dares to open the mini-fridge in one corner of the room, touching the handle with one gloved finger. Mistake -- a foul stench wafts out, and Angela glimpses whhat looks like purple fur before slamming it shut. "I think something died in the fridge," she calls.

"Probably a pipe plus a flood of water," she grinned. "We could take some of the ceiling panels out, though. Maybe check things out that way."

"Yeah, I'd like to get into music again too," John says. "I loved the class and it was almost a way from my brain to relax. Not that it's an easy class but it's a different class and my brain can take a different track when I'm in there. And yeah, we had Twinkies."

"Animal, vegetable, mineral, or gremlin? Don't throw it out until Janet sees it--she'll probably want a sample."

"Who's ever ready to give up sleeping in?" asked Janet. "But I'm looking forward to the new semester starting up too. At least I know I'm not the only one. Did the new class schedule go up IC for students anywhere?"

"Krycek said something about a new couch," Angel replied. "Dunno if he's found one yet."

Sean yipped. He flipped over, scurried off to where he'd left a tennis ball, then brought it back to Other Guy to throw for him.

"I get that. It sounds like it's not so much 'read this book, take this quiz.' Which I get more than enough of."

"Thanks for telling me about it, seriously."

"Point. Huh." Angel looked at Callisto thoughtfully. "I'll have to ask her about it."

"No I've got this jacket that - " Angel started to describe, then stopped himself. "Um. I have a thing. I'll be fine. And, uh, she mentioned that. The dress. I bet it's pretty. You know, on you."

"Where's Vladdie's powers when you need them?" Angel looked around for a chair that seemed sturdy enough to stand on.

"Oh, hey, cool," Angel said. He pointed to the sprinklers in the ceiling. "Can you lob a fireball at those? I wanna find out if they're still faking it."

"Purple," Angela answers, then grimaces. "I guess I need to take another look."

Armed with Lysol, she opens the fridge again, spraying the mass until her eyes are starting to burn from the chemicals and she's satisfied that anything moving in there now very very dead. Cautiously, she prods it with the same gloved finger. "I think vegetable? It doesn't seem very, um, lively, anyhow. Lookl like it might be somebody's leftovers."

"Geez, what the heck did he say that pissed you off so much?"

"Hey, Cal," Angela calls from where she crouches in front of the fridge. "What do you think this purple stuff is?"

Janet rolled her eyes, and went into her backpack for another biohazard sticker. She peeled the backing off as she stared at Angel, judging his height. He was too tall for her to stick one to his forehead, so she reached out to stick one to his chest.

Then she stuck her tongue out at Angel. "And here I've been offering to help out, but no, you make fun of me instead."

Angel snickered. "Could've been worse. You could've put one on my... uh, and suddenly I remember I'm a gentleman and won't finish that sentence. Hey, how 'bout that weather huh?"
