Still more with cleaning

Angel was up early.

That was so wrong on so many levels.

But he'd promised Krycek to help finish cleaning the Assistants Lounge, and sadly doing that was more fun than contemplating dealing with Parker's forced death march to Student Council.

Angel stood in the doorway to the lounge and pondered what he wanted to attack first.

Sean nosed around. It was possible that he sniffed around the door of one cabinet in particular more often than he did the others, but Sean was a puppy and puppies did weird things sometimes.

Janet yawned, drank her coffee, and walked past the open door to the assistants' lounge, then stopped, turned around, and walked in the room.

"I completely forgot about this place," she said. "Hi, Angel. This is--fairly disgusting and completely unsanitary. Need some help?"

"Hey, Janet. This place is pretty gross, seriously."

"The more the merrier," Angel said. He grinned. "I promised Krycek I'd help. I didn't promise I'd be a martyr to it."

"Martyrdom is overrated," said Janet, grinning back. "Where are the cleaning supplies?" She pulled a pair of surgical gloves out of her backpack and slipped them on. "I'm a little afraid that the bacteria in this room have mutated into something horrible."

As if on cue, Sean barked at the cabinet he was sniffing.

"I'm not sure this entire room wasn't created by the grime," Angel said. "If we clean enough of it it might vanish."

"The assistants' lounge is possibly scarier than the library after Zombie Weekend," said Janet. "And I really didn't think that could happen."

She eyed the cabinet Sean was barking at. "What are the odds that something Man Was Not Meant To Know is in that cabinet? And if that's the case, how long before we say 'screw it' and investigate?"

"Could be a task for I-Club," Angel suggested. He gently nudged Sean away from the cabinet. "Go play over there, boy. I don't want you touching anything that's going to turn you into a gremlin."

Janet dug into her backpack again, and came up with some alcohol wipes and biohazard stickers. "Don't ask," she muttered, cleaning off the outside of the drawer with the alcohol wipes, then sticking several large, orange biohazard stickers on it.

"Either this will warn everyone away, or someone else is going to open it without backup," said Janet. "But I see we have the first new item on the I-Club agenda for this semester."

Angel took in the stickers and alcohol wipes. Utterly deadpan, he said, "Janet, what you do in your private life is between you and your significant others."

Janet rolled her eyes, and went into her backpack for another biohazard sticker. She peeled the backing off as she stared at Angel, judging his height. He was too tall for her to stick one to his forehead, so she reached out to stick one to his chest.

Then she stuck her tongue out at Angel. "And here I've been offering to help out, but no, you make fun of me instead."

Angel snickered. "Could've been worse. You could've put one on my... uh, and suddenly I remember I'm a gentleman and won't finish that sentence. Hey, how 'bout that weather huh?"

Janet started laughing. "The weather's just fine. Having fun, Angel?" She tried not to giggle too much when she looked to see if vampires could blush.

"Loads," Angel replied. "Oh hey - what year are you?"

"I'm a junior. How come?" That was a strange question.

"Damn. Been trying to find more seniors so I can get out of this Student Council thing."

"Hey, Janet," Callisto nodded.

"Hey, Callisto," said Janet. She uncovered a bottle of bleach and an unopened package of sponges. "How's it going?"

"Not so good, actually," Callisto frowned. "Janet, if I asked you to do something for me, would you?"

"I'm sorry to hear that," said Janet. "And sure, I'd do something for you. What's wrong?"

"It's Cameron, he's been sparring with Aeryn and I'd say he's about this far away from getting himself badly hurt. It ended badly when I tried talking to him but since you're a healer...I don't know, he might listen to you."

"He's been sparring with Aeryn?" asked Janet. "And let me guess--Aeryn being Aeryn, she doesn't realize that it might be a favor to hold back a little with him?" She sighed and shook her head. "Yeah, I can give it a try. I hadn't realized what he was doing. How bad off is he by now? And how long has he been sparring with her?"

"Actually I think he asked Aeryn to stop holding back, which is why I'm worried," Callisto scratched her neck. "I don't think he's got anything worse than bruising at this point, but there's enough of it to be concerned. And it's mostly been in the past week or so."

Janet raised an eyebrow. "What the heck happened to him to cause him to ask her to do that? I'll stop by his room when I get a chance. Do you know if they're sparring daily?"

"I don't know," Callisto shrugged. "My guess it that it has something to do with Vala. And yeah, I got the impression it's been every day."

"I'm sure it's very healthy to ask the doppelganger of your girlfriend to beat you up if you're having problems with your girlfriend," said Janet dryly. "I'll talk to him about it. If need be, I'll talk to Aeryn about it too. I doubt she realizes the situation with Vala--no one else seems to know what's going on with them."
