Still more with cleaning

Angel was up early.

That was so wrong on so many levels.

But he'd promised Krycek to help finish cleaning the Assistants Lounge, and sadly doing that was more fun than contemplating dealing with Parker's forced death march to Student Council.

Angel stood in the doorway to the lounge and pondered what he wanted to attack first.

Sean nosed around. It was possible that he sniffed around the door of one cabinet in particular more often than he did the others, but Sean was a puppy and puppies did weird things sometimes.

"Yeah, and they really suck sometimes," Bel muttered. "Still, liked you better without yours."

"And I like you better when you're not all pissy. Looks like we're both disappointed today."

"Then I guess the only question is who gets to be un-disappointed first."

"You know it takes less muscles to smile than it does to frown," Angel pointed out. He might have even batted his eyes a little just to give it that right note of Mary Poppinsness. What? It's a word.

"You should take that act on the road and entertain children," Bel said with a roll of his eyes. His cell phone chirped; he turned away for a brief moment to check the message. Hanging up, he turned back around and grinned. "It's your lucky day. I have to go deal with some paperwork."


[OOC: Angel could've heard the message he listened to if you want, given his super hearing and all. And the fact that it's a voice he's quite familiar with. ;) ]

"I was thinking puppets," Angel replied. He quirked his eyebrows as he heard Bel's message, but otherwise was mysteriously stoic for a guy who'd just been joking around. "Got a date?"

"Nothing you need to worry about. Just dealing with a few technicalities," Bel said cheerfully. "Looking after my own interests like you seem to want me to."

Bel froze for a moment, then realized Angel must've overheard the message. "Can't blame me for wanting to make sure you're not technically my guardian any more, can you?" he said. "Going to be hard enough explaining things if Raynor asks about you and how my training is going."

"Hey, if you want a little discipline I'm sure we can arrange that," Angel said because apparently today's the day to set a record for using this icon

"I doubt we have the same type of activities in mind," Bel said not totally setting himself up with that line.

"I'm gonna be nice to you today and not make a crack about kissing me again," Angel said. "Don't get used to it though."

"Yeah, Mom hates it when we fight," Bel said with a sly half-smile.

"Little bit by little bit, you get closer and closer to me," Angel observed. "Huh. Funny that."

"Somebody's gotta fill the void your passing has left," Bel said.

Angel might have muttered something that sounded like "You wish I was filling your void."

Bel thought about responding with "Bite me," but decided Angel would probably enjoy the invitation.

Angel didn't read minds. If he did, he might've smirked.
