Assistants' Lounge, Wed 18

With only one class to worry about, Angel had plenty of time to hang out and ~~do nothing~~ pay close attention to his studies.

Currently he was curled up on the couch and reading a large, old, dusty book.

For fun.

Weirdo.

Sean, possessed of a better sense of fun than his dad, was chasing a ball around on the floor.

There was fresh coffee brewing.

"Hey yourself," Angela says with a bit of a smile.

"How's Sean? And, um, did I completely confuse you Sunday? Because I realized after we talked that I probably did that thing where I don't really make sense."

[OOC: Are Phoebe and Cole still in the lounge?]

Sean came over to greet Angela, his tail wagging all the while.

"He's good," Angel said. "And nah. I'm just glad if I could help you with something. Whatever it was."

[ooc: No idea. Don't want to assume on their behalf]

Angela reaches down to pat the puppy. "Gooood boy," she croons before turning back to his non-human companion.

"It was a boy problem, actually. I was trying to decide whether I should try to stay with Marty or not. I thought about it, and I really think the answer is no, at least for now. Not that breaking up was fun, but you were right, sometimes it's the best thing for both people. Or vampires. Whatever."

"You broke up with Marty?" Angel looked surprised. And sad. "What happened?"

Angela stares at her shoes for a long moment before speaking. "I think this just wasn't the right time for us. We'd been snapping at each other for a couple weeks, now, and that's when we even saw each other. I kissed my ex-boyfriend while I was home last weekend, but that was a symptom, not the main problem."

"I never thought I'd be the type to, like, cheat, or anything like that. Which I clearly am. So ... I didn't want to keep hurting him, I guess."

"Sounds like it was a tough decision to make," Angel said, sympathetically.

"It was. I just hope he's okay," Angela says, almost oblivious to how hypocritical she must sound.

She frowns and shakes her head, trying to snap out of her mood. "Anyhow. Congratulations to you and Callisto on the student government thing. Jaye did a really good job on your posters, and Cal's were gorgeous too."

"Were they? I hardly noticed." Angel cleared his throat. "And thanks. I was actually surprised to win."

She rolls her eyes at his comment about Callisto's posters. "She's really, really ~~scary~~ pretty. But I'm sure you're dating her entirely for her personality."

"You shouldn't be surprised. You have the whole name recognition thing working for you, anyhow, and these things always come down to that. No offense."

"Yeah but you'd think at least some would still recognize me as that vamp who could go evil and kill everybody." Angel gave a wry grimace. "Of course Jaye did say she was going to run me as a Republican..."

Angela laughs. "Dick Cheney, Dracula, what's the difference. I think people believe your soul is pretty well stuck." It's clear she isn't sure whether this is a good thing or not.

A curious look spreads across her face. "So do you vote? I mean, technically, you're old enough, right?"

"Old enough," Angel confirmed, "but my citizenship is a little shakey. I try not to appear on more official records than I absolutely have to. Safer that way."

"I forgot about the Irish thing, but yeah, that makes sense. Plus, it keeps you out of jury duty," Angela says, glancing at her watch.

"I should get to my government class. See you later, Angel."

"Have a good one, Angela," Angel gave her a wave of good-bye.
