With only one class to worry about, Angel had plenty of time to hang out and do nothing pay close attention to his studies.

Currently he was curled up on the couch and reading a large, old, dusty book.

For fun.

Weirdo.

Sean, possessed of a better sense of fun than his dad, was chasing a ball around on the floor.

There was fresh coffee brewing.

"Hey, Sean," Callisto knelt down to scratch behind Sean's ears.

Sean wriggled happily.

Angel looked up from his book. He smiled. "Hey."

"Hey," Callisto smiled, then focused on the puppy. "Uh, you remember that thing we were talking about the other day?"

"The part about you being hot? Yes. It's still true."

"Actually I meant the bit about Darla," Callisto ruffled the fur along Sean's shoulders. "I kinda, well, ran into her the other day."

Angel sat up, all joking put aside. "What happened?"

"Oh, y'know, insults, threats to cut off body parts, throwing of drinks, about par of the course as far as mother-girlfriend chats go."

Angel nodded, taking that all in. "And what did she say?"

"That you had a kink for blondes, I should do my best to make you perfectly happy, that preferred Angelus, then she threatened to cut off my hands and I threw my drink at her."

"Not surprising," Angel said. "Her part, I mean. The drinks thing is kinda cool."

"She didn't seem to think so, I get the feeling if the bartender hadn't stepped in I would have had to kick her butt," Callisto grinned. "It looked pretty funny though."

Angel grinned back at her. "That's my girl. So how'd it all end up?"

Callisto shrugged. "Since she couldn't do any there, I stayed in Caritas until close, , then came back to the dorms."

"I'm glad you're okay," Angel said. "Did she say anything? Give you any idea of what her plans might be?"

"Beyond get rid of the soul?" Callisto shook her head. "No."

"I don't like this," Angel said. "She's up to something. More than just getting my soul out. She'd never think that small."

"Well, she has to have at least been talking to somebody, since she already knew who I was, and I doubt it was from the radio."

"Bel, probably," Angel said. "He was in here earlier all happy and smug about something. He and Darla have been getting real snuggly. Tell me that's not related."

"Okay, there's a mental image I never wanted," Callisto winced. "But, yeah, Bel would definetely be the most likely suspect."

"I-club meeting's tomorrow, right?" Angel asked. "We should bring it up then."

"Probably be a good idea," Callisto nodded. "Just maybe not when Pheobe's around, I don't want to deal with what her ideas about effectively stopping them might entail."

"Good call," Angel said. "If nothing else she might be too sympathetic to Bel and reveal any plans we come up with."
