Assistants' Lounge, Thursday 1/26

The roof was too bright and visible during the day, and the attic reminded Bel too much of Phoebe, so he retreated to the lounge to spend the day brooding. And quite possibly, plot the ways he was going to make Logan Echolls suffer.

Xander shrugged. "Sure. Be pretty surprised if there weren't ghosts around here. Not sure why they'd want to make the TA lounge smell like onions, though - what, it died of bad breath?"

"I don't know. Maybe the onions are just somebody's lunch that went bad?"

"But what I don't get is why we'd have a ghost. I mean, wasn't the school new this fall?"

Xander nodded. "Well, point. But I assume the land didn't spring up out of nowhere along with the school. And this place has gotta be on some weird mystical mumbledywhatzit with all the stuff that goes down here. Probably not a hellmouth, because most of it's not evil as far as I've seen - but something weird. So ghosts... no big surprise."

Sam considered that. Xander, after all, was definitely from a town that seemed to specialize in weird, based on what she'd heard. "Do you think there'd be measurable differences? That could be researched and investigated?"

"You mean, here versus ... the mainland, or whatever? Good question," Angela muses. "Maybe the I-Club magic people would be into it."

"Could be sciencey-type differences too," Xander said. "We know people end up here from different timelines and dimensions. Some of that's more Galaxy Quest than Spooky Things."

"Something to bring up, anyhow," Angela agrees.

Then: "So if there is a ghost in here, what do you think it would be from? I feel like it's a she."

Xander flopped down on a couch with his coffee. "I dunno - do we know what was here before the school?"

"I have no clue," Angela says. "The town seems a little older, but I don't know if any of the townies have lived here all that long either."

"Something in the library, maybe, o library aide girl? Fandom, A History?" he asked. "Which might be a Special Collections thing, come to think of it, given how much weird and wacky's gotta be stuffed into those pages."

"Depends. Special collections is really for the books that will try to eat you, or tell you how to turn your ex-boyfriend into a frog. If it was just about Fandom itself, it'd be in local history, I think," Angela says, a little doubtful as she explains something the aides just worked out OOC this week.

"Come by next week and we can check? I need to actually try to be on time for music today."

"Good idea. I--" Xander coughed. "Kinda need to actually apply for a library card. Seeing as I managed tomake it through last semester without checking a single thing out, and I'm not betting I'll get that lucky again."
