Elizabeth laughed, moving to come and sit by him. "Well, there was four days where I don't know where I was last week," she admitted. "Then it's a matter of finding a quiet corner to work."
"You didn't know where you were?" Kawalsky frowned. "I figured something was up when you didn't show for class, and I left you a voicemail, but I figured you were just off doing your thing. You okay?"
"No!" Kawalsky said a little too quickly. "I just made...more of the bad guys. While under the influence. Then I hung out with a superhero who wasn't The Tick and broke into a store in town looking for clogs and nylons."
Elizabeth hesitated. "I honestly don't know," she said quietly. "I still feel like me; hopefully there's not an even younger clone of me running around now!"
"Looks human, but not so much on the inside." He tapped his head. Kawalsky couldn't really go into too much detail in public. "To keep it simple, he's not one of the good guys."
"Just remember inside information won't always keep you from trouble, after all, don't want to have to face Vala if you end up dead drunk at this thing."
Charlie cleared his throat and dropped his voice even quieter than the hushed tones they'd been talking with in the far corner since there was someone else in the room. He nodded. "I should've done something." He grimaced. "Sorry."
Elizabeth just looked at him. "How were you supposed to know that there was anything going on?" she asked, equally quietly. "It's not like I can always give you warning when I'm yanked out to deal with something."
Elizabeth wrapped her arm around him, and laid her head on his shoulder. "I'll have you know that I have a very good track record of getting myself out of trouble," she smiled.
Kawalsky scrunched up his face at the thought of how that sounded. "So not so much with being hurt, just...yeah. That was my weekend. Next time, I'm leaving it up to you guys and just sleeping through it. How'd you go?"
