Having used that tone of voice on others, Phoebe merely nodded and sipped her coffee.

"It's very kind that you're going out of your way to help her adjust and find happiness. However? Please let Piper or I make you and John (mostly John) something that would stop you guys from being turned into animals?" Phoebe didn't expect Calisto to take her up on the offer, but it was her responsibility to make the attempt.

Callisto looked up from her book. "Phoebe, in case you haven't noticed, your boyfriend wants to desoul mine, and has actually attempted at least two spells that I'm aware of to do so." She put the book down. "Now I'm going to be nice and assume the caffiene hasn't kicked in yet, because otherwise I'm going to have to wonder whether you think I'm insane or merely stupid enough to risk letting anything magical from you anywhere near me or Angel's roommate."

"He's not my boyfriend," she mumbled, looking into her cup. "And in case you have forgotten, if Bel takes Angel's soul? My sisters and I are on his menu for dinner. So, I kinda have a big stake in making sure that doesn't happen. I didn't mean to suggest that you were stupid or insane." She met Callisto's eyes. "Sorry, I was only trying to help."

"I've never lost sight of the danger Angelus poses to those at this school if Belthazor succeeds in bringing him back," Callisto replied flatly. "And since that little scenario will end with either Angelus or myself dead, you'll forgive me if I don't want to take any chances, however slim."

"As I've never lost sight of what Belthazor is. Why do you think we broke up?" She sighed. "Look, I'm sorry. I don't want anything to happen to you. I kinda like having you around and have respect for you. I can understand that you would think I would have some ulterior motive for offering to help. I was Bel's girlfriend. However, I'm not blind, nor am I willing to risk anything happening to others of this school because the guy I loved wants his psycho-killer best friend back. I get that you don't trust me and don't want my help, but at least think about asking my sister, Piper, then, for some sort of protection. She heates Bel and doesn't want Angelus back, either."

Logan wandered into the lounge to grab some coffee before class. "Hey," he nodded to the girls. "Oh, Phoebe, tell your boyfriend he did a lovely Cher impersonation last night."

"Damn it! He's in not my boyfriend," she muttered. "He... gah! All we did is talk. I stayed at the Hotel last night." She looked at Logan. "But... that was different."

Logan rolled his eyes. "Technicality," he said. "You were all over him at Caritas last night." He poured himself a mug of coffee and leaned against the counter. "This is the thing - my girlfriend gets kinda cranky when her friends get murdered. So before you and the flamer make things official, you might want to ask Lilly Kane what happens to chicks who sleep with psychopaths."

Phoebe flinched.

"Damn it. He put his arm around me and shimmered me out of the club. All we did is talk and fight. I have no intention of getting myself killed."

Phoebe would have banged her head into a wall if she could do it without hurting herself again.

"Look, he knows that I'm upset with him. Fuck, he's upset with me. "

Logan waved a hand. "Yeah, I'm sure you've got a whole bunch of excuses ready. Whatever, dude. He's a mass murderer who's bragged about the people he killed. If that floats your boat, go for it. You two had better stay the hell away from Veronica, though."

She looked him dead in the eye.

"What he did to Veronica is the reason I broke up with him, Logan. I didn't break up with him for sleeping with my sister. I left him and moved into the hotel because of what he did to Veronica." She glared. "And don't you fucking dare tell her about that. I care about Veronica and she's my friend. I wasn't just going to accept what he did."

Bel wandered into the lounge in time to hear Logan's last comment. "But one thing I haven't done is beat my dad almost to death with a crowbar," he mused. "Must make Father's Day awkward."

"I think Father's Day was destined to be awkward the moment he bashed my girlfriend's skull in," Logan said to Bel, then turned back to Phoebe. "If you think I'm going lie to Veronica because of you, I want whatever crack you've been smoking, 'cause it's got to be some good stuff."

Phoebe looked at both guys.

"I didn't ask you to lie to her, Logan. I asked you not to tell her something that might upset her. She and Piper didn't tell me about Cole and Piper because they didn't want to hurt me. I get that. I didn't tell Veronica my main for reason I broke up with Cole for the same reason." She looked at Cole and should her head and then looked back at Logan. "I think I'm going to you boys to your ridiculous posturing and go to class ~~with my system lord~~ with Camulus. And they think girls can be catty."

"And that worked out so well for her and Piper," Logan said.

Phoebe looked at him and grimaced. "Do you know something? I hate it when you're right." She sighed and pulled out her Sidekick, dialing Veronica's number. "V? It's Pheebs. I need to tell you something important. I was going to keep it a secret but you boyfriend seems to think that would be a bad idea. Call me or I'll tell you in Sociology, okay?"

"Why don't you back the fuck off, Echolls," Bel growled at Logan. "Just because Angel's staked his claim on you doesn't mean I still won't kick your ass if you harass Phoebe. Her relationship with Veronica is between them, not you."

Phoebe threw up her hands. She couldn't believe this bullshit. She had come in for coffee and first Callisto and then Logan had jumped her shit. Now Cole was jumping Logan's shit and that would piss off Veronica.

"I am so out of here. You guys have fun." She looked at both of them and shook her head.

"Funny how a g'oauld system lord is more peaceful than the lounge."

"'Staked his claim on me'?" Logan asked, eyebrows raised. "I think you're both high. And I have no plans to harass Phoebe. I think you've got that covered."

Bel smirked. "You belong to him, didn't you know that? Either as Angel or Angelus, you're his."

Logan rolled his eyes. "Leave me out of your kinky fantasies."

"Why don't you just ask him?" Bel said. "Ask him what he told me to get me to agree not to get some payback after you told Phoebe about me and Piper. He told me you were still his, even if he was Angel and not Angelus."

There was a flicker of worry in Logan's eyes, but he hid it quickly. "So you're too scared of him to hurt me? Shame, that," he grinned.
