Cameron's got some chocolate cake with him. He puts it on the table and settles down in one of the chairs. Keeping his head down in the lounge sounds like a good thing right now.

((Shut up. I know it's not Thursday. *mutters*))

"Cameron..." Sam sighed and scratched her head. Maybe the military wasn't for him, after all. "You do know that she had no choice, right? When you're enlisted, you go where you're told, when you're told. If you refuse, you're put in the brig. And that's just our military."

He closed his eyes for a moment, telling himself that when he'd open them again, everything would be in technicolours. Only, it was still techni B&W. "Uh... I don't think so?"

"What's wrong?"

Cameron raised an eyebrow. "Yes, but no one is forcing you to join."

"No, no one is forcing me to join," Sam conceded, "but we can't go around fixing everyone else's society for them ~~even though that's totally what we did on SG-1~~."

"Not right away, at least. How about you?"

He turned his attention fully toward Izzy and leaned in, searching her eyes. "I'm pretty sure you had brown eyes when you walked in here." He was not going to freak. Did strokes come with colour loss?

"Air Force Academy," Cameron didn't have to think about it.

"I did. And I don't think they changed recently." She frowned, "Cam, what's going on?"

"Then I go pay her a visit," he said stubbornly.

Sam nodded slowly, reminding herself that Cameron a) was male and b) was going through a rough patch. "Okay. But not yet. There's steps first."

"I don't know, everything's gone grey. It's like someone replaced my colour television for a black and white one. Your shirt's not red anymore," he picked up the rubber ball. "This definitely isn't blue."

"Like learning to fly?" He asked.

"That's not good." She peered into his face, trying to see if his eyes looked any different. "Did you do anything different today? Touch any strange books? Eat in te cafeteria?"

Sam laughed. "That will help, yes. Maybe by the time you can fly, the plane'll be ready for you."

"Sounds... well-structured," Logan said.

"No. No. No. I just ate those pastries Kawalsky got from Jeff's. Cameron groaned and bowed his head. He pressed the heels of his hands against his eyes for a moment and then looked up at Izzy again. His shoulders slumped. "You're prettier in colour," he sulked.

Cameron smirked. "That's not how I'd describe becoming a fighter pilot, but I guess so."

"They better, engine purring and ready to take me up." Cameron was practically purring himself at the thought.

"You're such a flyboy, Mitchell."

"Not yet, but I'm hoping to be." Cameron grinned.

"I'm sure it's nothing permanent. Isn't weird stuff a given around here?" Reaching out she patted his shoulder. "Do you want me to walk over to the clinic with you? Just to make sure?"

"Well, the attitude's definitely right." She grinned back.

"I guess," he sighed and grabbed a pillow. Placing it on his lap, he buried his face i it to keep himself from seeing the non colourful world. "Do you know if there are any terminal diseases that keep you from seeing colour?"

"Didn't realise there's a correct attitude."
