TA Lounge - Friday

After waking up early and hanging flyers about the Boykissy Event, Veronica decided to go hang out in the assistant's lounge and take all the cookies she had baked the day before, now that they wouldn't need them for the Boykissy Event.

She opened the lounge and started a pot of coffee.

[Veronica's mun stayed home from work sick and wants to play]

"Yeah, after last week it'd be pretty hard for this week not to be better, I guess." Anders helped himself to a cookie and a heavily sugared, very creamy mug of coffee. "Not bad, not bad, 'cept having a sick girlfriend's kind of a downer. Hey, you catch the radio last night? I swear that was about the second-cutest thing ever."

"Cally's sick? Tell her I hope she feels better," Veronica said. "And no, I missed the radio, what happened?"

"I will, yeah -- and no, she's not pregnant, even though I think I accidentally made a couple people think so the other day," said Anders with a slightly desperate expression. "Rory was broadcasting with Bridge last night and they both fell asleep at the end. It was frakking adorable."

"Um, well, that's good," Veronica said awkwardly.

"And Rory and Bridge fell asleep together? How much cuter can you get? Are they together? I haven't heard any gossip about them."

"It's good. It's very good." Maybe he was a bit too vehement about that. "And they're not together or anything, unless my best bud has been holding out information on me, which I don't think he is. But every time they talk, it's just cute in this bizarre way."

"You'll have to let me know if you get any inside scoop on them," Veronica said, her gossip columnist instincts rearing their ugly head.

Anders rolled his eyes. "It might cost you," he teased. "They both live on my floor and I don't wanna get killed."

He thought back on his conversation with Rory the night before. "No, seriously, I'm pretty sure there's nothing going on there. At the moment, anyway."

"I'll bribe you with cookies," she said with a grin. "Seriously though, I like Rory and Bridge and they should be happy."

[afk for a few hours]

"Hmm. Cookies." Anders pretended to consider this very, very hard for a few seconds. He wasn't very convincing. "I could be very easy for cookies. Just not like that. Still, you're gonna have to wait on a final answer until after I tease the hell out of them both and see how that goes," he added with a cheeky grin.

[OOC: Ah, yes. Hope you had fun. *g* Heading AFK for a couple of hours myself now.]

"Oh, naturally," Veronica agreed. "You're duty bound as Bridge's best friend to torment the hell out of him."

"And I totally will," said Anders, grinning. "I'll be a little nicer to Gilmore, though. I figure she's gonna get teased enough by Jaye anyway."

"I might have to give Rory a hard time next time I see her," Veronica said.

Anders snickered. "And you know, this is kind of an awful thing to say, but that's kind of fun. Who can resist really?"

"Why do you think I write the gossip column?" she asked with a smirk.

"Oh, that reminds me," she said. "In an effort to make things fair, we're going to run a girlkissy poll starting this week."

And verily, there was much sputtering and red-facedness. "Seriously? Like, seriously? That I can totally get behind."

Veronica didn't snicker at Anders reaction. Much.

"Yeah, seriously."

"Well," he said, attempting (and likely failing) to regain his dignity, "just as long as it's all fair."

Not that he had anyone particular in mind, or anything. Nooooooo.

"I'm all about being fair," Veronica said, still not snickering.

"I hope you'll nominate someone."

"I, uh. I might have a few ideas," replied Anders. "Sure, I'll nominate someone. This is still gonna be totally anonymous, right?"

"Totally anonymous," she assured him.

Anders nodded emphatically. "I'll so be nominating, then. Whose idea was that?"

"Phoebe, Chloe and I all agreed at the newspaper meeting yesterday."

"Huh. Would've thought it'd be one of the guys who came up with that one." Anders shrugged. "Not complaining either way, long as I don't end up in that boykissy . . . well, I guess it'd only be fair if I nominated some girls, huh?"

"If I'd have known you wanted it, I would have totally nominated you for the boykissy poll," Veronica said, somehow managing to keep a straight face.

"Yeah, I -- hey!"
