Rediscovery

Being a vampire and having an energetic puppy meant that you did a lot of walking indoors in order to make sure the puppy got its exercise.

Fortunately the school was more than big to satisfy, and that was even without including the basement since Angel had a gut instinct that Sean and Sunshine wouldn't get along (assuming Sunshine was still down there, and Angel wasn't going to be the one to check.)

This morning found Angel and a still Santa-hatted Sean wandering around the admin areas. Not really awake yet, Angel let Sean lead. The puppy snuffled his way through one hallway and another until he finally came up to a door that was in what appeared to be a much neglected corridor.

Normally Angel wouldn't have cared, but something on the door caught his eye.

"'Assistants Lounge'?" he read aloud. He frowned. "I didn't know we had an assistants' lounge."

He tested the door. The knob felt rusted, but it opened when he applied a little pressure or possibly it was locked and he just had vamp strength to open it, la la la.

The room was dark, but Angel could make out a table, some chairs, and a faded couch. He could also make out a very strong sent of mold, mildew, and dust.

Sean, for his part, thought this was fascinating. He darted into the room, leapt onto the couch, and immediately set off a dust cloud strong enough that it billowed out into the hall. Sean barked, pleased with his accomplishment.

"Oh yeah," Angel said. "That can't be good."

He decided to investigate.

[ooc: C'mon in! Let's re-open this baby and get it ready for the new year!]

Callisto was bored. This was never a good thing. She wandering the school looking for something to do when she stumbled into the dust cloud in the hallway.

"The frell?"

"Assistant's lounge?" Callisto facepalmed. "Of course we have a lounge. They just didn't bother to tell us when it could have done us some good."

"The entire term, I had to put up with that jackass and they were withholding the per-" Callisto stopped mid-rant. "What were doing last night that required a lounge?"

"Ethics," Callisto made a dismissive hand gesture. "There's something seriously wrong with an ethics class were someone like me scores higher than someone like Rory."

Callisto poked warily at a dusty wall. "So how long do you think this place has been here?"

"Is it even a good idea to ask why it's been closed up that long?" Callisto walked in the vague direction of the sink. "And what is that smell?"

"I'm starting to think a corspe might have been a good thing," Callisto pinched her nose closed. "At least then we'd know what it was."

"Flamethrower sounds good," Callisto might have started grinning. "I think Cally has one. At least she did during Zombie Weekend."

"Or a lighter," Callisto started seaching through her pockets." Which, by happy chance, I happen to have a couple on me."

"Darn, there goes that plan," Callisto suddenly became very interested in the cabinets under the sink. This interest had absolutely nothing to do with noticing Angel's grin. "Well, maybe there's hairspray, or something, in here. Never know."

[identity profile] psycho-barbie.livejournal.com 2005-12-23 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
"You're right," Callisto nodded, then pointed to the cabinet. "You should go."

"My hero," Callisto commented dryly. "Use a broom to open it then."

Callisto might have caught the twinkle. It might have influenced her decision to fight dirty. "So if something's risky, then the best thing to do is run away? Way to set an example for Sean."

Callisto did not start smiling at the sight of Angel distracting Sean, she was scowling because her brilliant ploy had failed. Really.
