Assistant's Lounge [3/27]

After Sociology of Violence, Veronica headed to the TA Lounge instead of going back to her room. She may have been trying to avoid thinking about what happened in Neptune over the weekend.

She started a pot of coffee and flopped down on the couch to finish reading the copy of Cosmo she had picked up at the airport yesterday.

She flipped to the "Paging the Love Doctor" section and mentally composed her own letters.

Is it normal to feel guilty that my friend got dumped by her boyfriend while pregnant because he was still in love with me?

Do I tell my boyfriend that my ex tried to kiss me over the weekend?

How can I be sure my boyfriend isn't turning gay?

Angel was taking Sean for a walk around the dorms and decided to stop by the lounge.

"Hey, Veronica."

"Angel, how are you?" she asked, concern evident on her face as she remembered his weird phone call on Saturday.

"Not bad," Angel said. He let Sean off his leash so the puppy could explore. Sean immediately went to the cupboard and sniffed around. "You? How was your trip?"

Veronica shrugged. "It was okay, I guess," she said, not wanting to get into details. "So I heard you and Logan had detention."

"Totally my fault," Angel said, taking a seat. "Don't blame him for that."

"You're both stubborn and hot tempered," Veronica said. "So I'm sure you were equally to blame."

She paused for a moment. "Does it have anything to do with what happened last week?" she finally asked.

"L'il bit," Angel admitted. "But it's fine now."

"Though I am supposed to stop telling people we didn't have sex," Angel said.

"Oh? Are you supposed to tell people you did have sex?" she asked, amused.

"I'm supposed to stop using the words 'me' 'Logan' and 'sex' at all," Angel said. He grinned. "Though it's way too much fun to make Parker turn all those colors."

Veronica chuckled. "By the way? I told Logan last night. Jarod is a nice guy. Don't give him too much hassle, okay?"

"I just want to make sure he's treating our little Parker right," Angel said. "I feel it's my duty."

"Uh huh," she said, shaking her head. "Logan said you guys were worried that he couldn't handle her. You two should really coordinate your stories next time."

Veronica laughed. "Oh, well, since you put it that way," she said, "the answer is still no."

"Not cute enough, right?" Angel asked. "Hang on."

He went over to pick Sean up and hold him at eye level. "How about now?"

"Sorry, there's not enough cute in the world to convince me to get involved in that," she said.

"But I will promise to take care of Sean if Parker kills you," she offered, reaching out to pat the puppy's head.

Sean tried to lick her hand.

"I don't think being concerned about somebody is a killing offense," Angel said.

"It might be when you're talking about Parker," she pointed out.

"If you're honestly concerned about Parker's well being, then I guess not," Veronica admitted. "But Jarod is really nice."
