Bel considers going to the gym, but his ribs still hurt from the encounter with Nazis and monsters in the sewers, so he decides to rest on the couch instead.
"Coffee? Please?" Isabel asked as soon as she opened the door to the lounge. Without waiting for an answer, she immedidiately followed the wonderful scent of fresh brewed coffee over to the machine and poor herself a cup.
"Mmmm.... Thank you. I needed this." Isabel took another sip and then closed her eyes. "I hate getting up this early. I have no idea how the Criminal Justice people get up for 1st period."
"Yeah, I've got Celtic Studies first period on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays," Bel sighed. "Phoebe made me take the class. I'd prefer to be sleeping."
"I remember getting a phone call from her about that class the day the phone messages were wacky. I couldn't do that. Too damn early. I have a hard enough time just getting up for this." She shrugged, "And yet the days I don't have class, half the time I wind up in the gym. Go figure."
"So how was your weekend?" Isabel asked with a raised eyebrow. "The radio mentioned a witch doctor?"
"Robot witch doctor," Bel said, an amused smile touching his lips. "I guess there was some guy running around in the sewers using robots to scare people. Not sure why, but then he got scared by a real monster down there. Did you see those Nazi guys giving the concert in the park Saturday night? I guess they were sneaking around trying to collect blood samples from people to makes some sort of creature, but it didn't want to do what they told it to do."
"A robot witch doctor," Isabel repeated slowly. "That's not something you hear about every day. But it sounds almost normal for this place. And I missed the show in the park. I was helping Peter run Game Night. It was actually pretty funny watching Aeryn and Anakin try to take over the world."
"There was no cheating as far as I can tell. Although I was tempted to use my own powers a bit," she admitted. "I was not having the best luck. It ended with Aeryn and Anakin split pretty evenly. But it was getting late, or more accurately, very early Sunday morning, like near dawn, so we called it a draw."
"No, it's fine. It's not like things are a big secret anymore," she said with a shrug. "Most of what I can do is based on molecular manipulation. Like how I removed the stain (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomassistant/13009.html?thread=947665#t947665) from the couch last week. I can change colors, temperatures, um, remove the keyhole from someone's doorknob. I can levitate some small stuff. But honestly? I've never been anywhere where I can practice and see the limits of what I can do. I've always had to hide it. So I don't know, maybe I can do more."
She didn't mention being able to dreamwalk, not after what Anakin had said about people's reactions to him getting into someone's head.
"You should talk to Piper some day," Bel said. "She can manipulate molecules as well -- either speed them up and make them explode or slow them down and freeze them -- but she doesn't have the control you have to do changes like you can do. Maybe you can learn something from each other."
