Once more with cleaning

Angel was working on cleaning the absolutely filthy assistants lounge. This was arguably due to the fact that as a vampire with a soul he was a nice guy who enjoyed doing good deeds for others.

Or possibly he had some extra energy that he needed to work off.

Said energy had absolutely nothing to do with someone whose name began with C and ended in allisto. For the record. Ahem.

As Angel didn't think he'd be using any fire this time he had Sean with him. Sean busied himself by playing with a squeaky ball.

The ball rolled off into a corner by the cabinets, and Sean chased after it.

It was entirely possible for either the vampire or the puppy to be interrupted.

Sean was practically dancing with glee. His tail wagged itself into a blur. He barked.

"Find something, boy?" Dad asked.

Sean barked again.

"Okay. But don't eat it."

The right hand door opened wide enough that anything inside might have been able to peak out at Angel.

Sean barked, trying to let New Thing know that that was Dad, and Dad was great and friendly and wonderful and very comfortable to sleep against, even if he didn't have a temperature and a heartbeat like most Dads did.

If there was something inside the cabinet, it might have looked at the puppy and grinned. It also may have giggled just a tiny bit.

The door shut again.

Sean decided to demonstrate to New Thing what he meant. He trotted over to Dad and nuzzled his pocket.

"Hey," Dad scritched him behind the ears. "Hungry?"

"Rrf!"

Dad produced a treat. He held it up above Sean's nose. "Okay, Sean. Sit."

The treat moved. Sean followed it with his eyes and felt his bottom hit the ground.

"Good boy! Very good sit. Okay, here you go."

Dad gave Sean the treat. Sean mouthed it very carefully. He trotted back to the cabinet and put the treat down on the ground.

He barked.

The right hand cabinet door opened just a tiny crack so that anything that might have been inside could see if Angel was looking. When it was verified that he wasn't, a small paw snuck out and picked up the treat. It was replaced with a gingerbread man.

The door shut again.

Sean danced with happiness at this development. He munched down on the gingerbread man, then proceeded to lick the floor well past the point where any gingerbread molecules could've possibly been sticking to it.

While the Sean tried to lick through the floor, one of the doors opened wide enough for a small paw to sneak out and pick up the squeaky ball.

The door shut again. Now there was squeaking coming from inside the cabinet.

Sean's ears perked with surprise. He snuffled at the door, hoping to follow the sound of the squeaking.

The squeaking stopped for a moment. Then it started again, very fast. Then it stopped. And started again slowly. And finally stopped.
