Still more with cleaning

Angel was up early.

That was so wrong on so many levels.

But he'd promised Krycek to help finish cleaning the Assistants Lounge, and sadly doing that was more fun than contemplating dealing with Parker's forced death march to Student Council.

Angel stood in the doorway to the lounge and pondered what he wanted to attack first.

Sean nosed around. It was possible that he sniffed around the door of one cabinet in particular more often than he did the others, but Sean was a puppy and puppies did weird things sometimes.

"Hey, Angel." Callisto momentarily brightened, before going back to scowling at everything in sight.

Bright was good. Angel could deal with bright in his direction. He decided to try what Logan had suggested. "So, uh, doyouwannagoouttodinnerwithme?"

Okay, small steps. Logan never specified that Angel needed to be coherent.

Callisto was too busy scowling to react at first.

"Buh?"

Angel colored. Nobody warned him that he'd have to repeat himself. He braced himself and tried again.

"" Callisto might have started smiling.

Angel might have started smiling too.

"Um. Somewhere nice. Where I dress nice. But you don't have to. Not that you don't. Dress nice. It's just I'm supposed to and you don't have to and I don't exactly know where that would be in town 'cause I don't exactly eat out all the time anyway but where ever that is I'd like to take you there. Soon. Or not. If you want."

It was a good thing he didn't need to breathe, because if he did he would've probably passed out after attempting to say all of that in a rush.

"Angel, calm down," Callisto did not start snickering, well, maybe a little. Which made for an interesting combination with the slightly doofy grin. "I'm sure there's somewhere in town."

"Right. Sure. Knew that." Angel nodded far more than was necessary. "Just - just didn't want you to think I was giving you a dress code. I've got one, apparently. I'm supposed to dress nice."

"So you'll be wearing something Parker picks then?" Callisto grinned, then rubbed her neck. "I, uh, do have a dress. It's... nice."

"No I've got this jacket that - " Angel started to describe, then stopped himself. "Um. I have a thing. I'll be fine. And, uh, she mentioned that. The dress. I bet it's pretty. You know, on you."

"Yeah, it's red and there's this beadwork and I think I'll justshutupnow..." Callisto clapped her hands together. "We'll just say we've got clothing covered then?"

"Covered by clothing, check," Angel said. "Um. I guess time is next? Place?"

"Uh, maybe that place Logan got the food from last night, if they do the nice thing, it was good."

"Chinese could be good," Angel said. "Uh - when?"

"Sometime in the next few days, I guess. Maybe Sunday? Y'know, one last thing before classes start again."

"Sunday could be okay," Angel said. "I - uh - I guess I pick you up? At your room?"

"Sounds good to me," Callisto replied.

"Sometime after sunset?"

"Of course," Callisto grinned. "Otherwise it'd be a very short date."

"Point." Angel wasn't grinning like a doof. Not at all. "So. Uh. Okay. That's good. I'll go get ready then."

"Great. So it's a date then," Callisto paused for a second before adding. "Literally."

"Right." Angel did not look both excited and panicked at the exact same time. "Good. Great." A thought occured to him. "You don't like still beating hearts of, well, anything, right?"

"Uh, no, not really all that big on them."

"Okay. So more like flowers or something then?"

"Not so big on the flowers either, sorry," Callisto grimaced apologetically. "Although they're far more preferable to still beating hearts."
