Assistants' Lounge, Monday

Bel opened up the lounge after Sociology of Violence, his second period class, determined not to wallow in humiliation any longer. So what if he'd failed ~~again~~? So what if he was the laughing stock of the school? Let them laugh. Next time he'd get it right, and then he'd be laughing as Angelus took his revenge on those who had ensouled him.

Seemingly unconcerned about anything, he sprawled on the couch, reading a book, "Weapons of the Zen Masters."

"Why? Can you just explain why to me?" Isabel sighed and sat on the couch. "What's the point of making Angel lose his soul? What's in it for you?"

"If I'd been trying to make him lose his soul...if...it would be because I made a promise to a friend," Bel said. "But what happened this weekend, that was an accident."

"That's funny," Isabel may have snorted, just a bit. "Because I made a promise to a friend as well, except it involved a stake and making sure he died. So I think I'm pretty happy that your accident didn't do any lasting harm."

"Promised Angel you'd stake him if he lost his soul then? Good to know," Bel said with a little laugh. "Be careful trying that. Not as easy as it sounds."

"I'm sure it's not," Isabel agreed. "But hopefully I'll never be put in a position to have to find out. But then I guess that all depends on whether or not you have any more accidents."

Opening her salad Isabel speared a tomato with a little more force then necessary. "In the mean time, I suppose we're all supposed to get along like good little students."

"I guess so," Bel said. "Trying to vanquish other students is generally frowned upon."

"Vanquish? Ouch. That doesn't sound pleasant."

She focused on her salad a bit before asking. "So I guess this means we sit here and make uncomfortable small talk for the rest of lunch?"

"Something like that," he said, seizing on the idea. "So. Are you a TA or on the clinic staff or what?"

"TA for Intro Western Literature. It's the first time I've actually stopped by the lounge. I figured it'd be a little quieter then the cafeteria."

"By the way, I owe you a thank you."

[ooc: I'll be AFK for a bit. Have to go cook dinner.]

"I'm TA for Dr. Grissom's Sociology of the Paranormal," Bel said. He paused. "Thank me? For what?"

[OOC: No problem!]

"TA for a class on the Paranormal?" She smiled, "I suppose that makes a certain sort of sense. As for the thanks, you were one of the first people who told me about the alien students here. Including the fact that one of them was grey. Knowing that kept me from gawking like an idiot when I finally met her."

Bel grinned. "No problem. It's kinda weird how there's so many aliens and demons and witches and mutants around here, and then there's normal kids like you. Who would've thought we'd all end up in school together?"

"Yeah, normal kids like me as a minority. Go figure." Isabel might have shifted a bit at that, but then again, it could have been because her foot was falling asleep from being tucked under her on the couch.

"They certainly don't point that out in the brochure. I guess they're afraid of scaring prospective students off."

"Dear parents, you will be sending your precious boy or girl to a school populated by werewolves, vampires, and other assorted creatures of the night," Bel joked. "Yeah, I can see that going over well."

[OOC: I love my pretty angsty demon. ;) ]

"I've been avoiding calling home so far. I've just been sending short emails," she said. "Arrived fine, roommates nice, classes are going well. I can't imagine explaining the details. You know things like, somehow I skipped a few months in time, my roommate's a guy, my lit class is taught by Geoffrey Chaucer."

"Half the school thinks they're the Brady Bunch, zombie invasions, students turning into dogs...yeah, best to leave that kind of stuff out," Bel chuckled.

[It's because of The Pretty. It lets him get away with a lot. ;) ]

"The teachers get turned into teenagers... Did you hear that on the radio Saturday night or where you too busy with your accident and its aftermath?" she asked. "Prof Cregg has been turned into a teenager. I'm sure class tomorrow will be interesting."

"A teenager?" Bel blinked. "Uh, yeah, that's going to make tomorrow interesting. She's probably getting a kick out of it though, knowing CJ."

Isabel thought about what she'd heard on the radio, getting a kick out of it was putting it mildly. "I'm sure she is," she agreed.

Her salad finished, Isabel stood and started towards the door. "I'd better get to class. It's been interesting talking to you, Belthazor. I guess I'll see you around."

"Nice talking to you, too," Bel said. "See you later."
